ALL ABOUT MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

->Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering  that applies on the principles of physics and material science for analysis, design, manufacturing and maintenance of mechanical systems.

->It is the branch of engineering that involves the production and usage of heat and mechanical power for the design, production, and operation of machines and tools.

->The engineering field requires an understanding of core concepts including mechanics. kinematics , thermodynamics, material science, structural analysis and electricity.

->Mechanical engineers use these core principles along with tools like computer-aided engineering and product lifecycle management to design and analyze manufacturing plants, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems , aircraft, watercraft ,robotics, medical devices and others.

->Mechanical engineering emerged as a field during the industrial revolution in Europe in the 18th century; however, its development can be traced back several thousand years around the world. But it emerged in the 19th century as a result of development in the field of physics.

->Another appealing feature of mechanical engineering is that the application base of this field of study is extremely broad and diverse.

->Almost all inventions during the ancient period and a vast majority in the modern era are direct contributions if one or the other application of mechanics.

->Mechanical engineers are also expected to understand and be able to apply basic concepts from Chemistry, Physics, Chemical engineering, Civil engineering and Electrical engineering.

->Mechanical engineers are problem solvers. They apply the laws of science in order to provide practical solutions to problems.

->They deal with the relations among forces, work or energy, and power in designing systems, which will render the achievements of science to the betterment of the human environment.

->They may work to extract oil from deep within the Earth or to send a spacecraft to the moon.
